August Activity - Match the Objects!

Hi parents! Welcome back to our site! Did your child enjoy matching the utensils and sorting them into the compartments last month? Let us know how it went in the comments section! In this month’s activity, we will be matching daily objects to a picture of it.

You will need the following materials for this activity:

1) Daily objects (eg Stationeries)
2) Photos of the daily objects* (eg take photos of the stationeries you want to use and print them out)

*We will be using stationeries in the following example.

Here’s how you can carry out the activity:

Step 1: Lay out the photos of the stationeries in one line, and the stationeries in a pile beside it.

Step 2: Demonstrate to your child how to match a stationery to a photo of it. Place the item next to the photo. You can repeat the demonstration with another stationery item.

Step 3: Point to the next photo in the line and encourage your child to find the stationery that matches what he/she sees in the photo.

Step 4: Repeat the process with another stationery!

For parents who are looking to carry this activity out in another way, here are some suggestions for you:

1) You can use pairs of objects that are the same and get your child to match them. Child will have to match two 3-D objects together in this variation of the activity.
2) You can prepare a few picture cards and get your child to match them. Child will have to match two 2-D pictures in this variation.

Try this education activity with your child today and train your child’s object to picture correspondence skills today! Let us know in the comments section below how it went! Have an enjoyable time with your child! J
